This is the highly anticipated sequel to The Keeper! Of course, no surprise here… I couldn’t put it down.
My heart really went out to Sadie in that book because she was a tad overweight and you just knew she was gonna be somethin’ when she finally blossomed. From the reaction of Will Stoltz, who was basically taken advantage of in his assignment to guard the peregrine falcons, Sadie has clearly made an impression. The entire town is confused because she shows up with a baby and naturally, they assume the worst. Gideon is ready to accept the baby and take Sadie as his wife, except Sadie couldn’t be more insulted when Gideon assumes that the baby is hers. It becomes the oh-so-frustrating love triangle…only nothing can become of her and Will unless she leaves the faith (or he joins).
Fern, the down-to-business drill sergeant, is also presented with a proposal. Will she leave the Lapp family to start her own? What is to become of an unmarried Amish woman with a baby? And which man will win her heart?
