Nutrisystem: Weeks 9, 10 & 11 #NSNation #spon

Man, has it really been this long since my last update? I’ve been so wrapped up in finishing up my research internship and planning my visits to grad schools that I didn’t even realize I had fallen so behind. :(

The week of the 5th, I was rehearsing for my presentations the following week. I had a lot of pressure because this video was going to be embedded in my profile on the program website while also being aired on local TV. The symposium was held on the 15th and I totally ROCKED that presentation. So I’m told, anyway. You know what they say – you are your worst critic.

The final draft of my article was due on the 20th and my mentor keeps sending it back for editing, so I’ve been working on finalizing that as well. It has been crazy, super stressful, and I am always fighting to not eat everything in sight. I even packed food when we went to the coast for a day to celebrate my 10 lb mark (hello, first Nutribear), and to get a quick trip in before the kiddo and I start school again.

I did cheat once this past week, as I was craving Korean-style pancakes. Here’s what’s crazy, though. If I cheat or overeat, I pay for it because I either end up with a bad stomachache or the runs. I thought about not including that info, but if you want the straight dope, then I shouldn’t hold anything back.

Anyway, here’s the breakdown of my adventure over the past several weeks (slow and steady, as expected!):

Week 1 1 lb down
Week 2 1 lb down
Week 3 1 lb down
Week 4 1 lb down
Week 5 1 lb down
Week 6 1 lb down
Week 7 1 lb down
Week 8 2 lbs down!!
Week 9 1 lb down
Week 10 1 lb down
Week 11 1 lb down
TOTAL LOSS SO FAR 12 lbs!!!

Also, did I mention how much I loved Nutrisystem’s adobo rubbed pork? It’s spicy and goes surprisingly well with the sweet potatoes. The beans are my addition. My fiance and I are used to having bigger portions of meat, so we still groan every once in a while, but without fail, we are always full. I can only imagine how much money we will save on meat somewhere in the distant future.

I’ll be leaving for graduate school visits on the 9th of September and will be traveling for approximately a week and a half. I am thinking I won’t be able to carry the Nutrisystem goodies as carry-on luggage, so it appears I will have no choice but to check it. DOH. Stay tuned for my soon-to-be adventures in traveling and consuming Nutrisystem. I know I’ll be doing a lot of walking, so maybe I’ll drop some more weight. WOOHOO! :)
