Now Released: Rock’N'Learn Sight Words Level 2

Last year, I reviewed the first Rock’N'Learn Sight Words DVD, so I am thrilled to be able to follow up with the second. My daughter was in Head Start last year and it was continually emphasized that, in order to be prepared for school, children would need to become familiar with sight words. We were directed to the Dolch printables, although these two DVD’s include words from Fry’s list as well. If you’re wanting to know the difference between the Fry’s and Dolch, this resource was incredibly helpful for me.

As always, Rock’N'Learn delivers catchy songs and visual appeal for adults and children. The underlying messages are pretty cool, too. For example, the characters encourage children to use their words to make others smile and set themselves free. Applying that to the real world, sometimes children hit other children or shut down because they’re not able to verbally express their feelings. Needless to say, there are some teachable moments that can arise from viewing educational materials WITH your children. I would definitely recommend purchasing both Sight Words DVD’s as the second builds off of the first.

Are your children too chummy with Spongebob? I’ve been there. It’s summer. Your kids need something to do and this is something you don’t have to feel guilty about.

I grew up with Sesame Street and School House Rock. My daughter? She’s a Rock’N'Learn Kid. And yes, I have to admit…I sing along, too.

Loook seeeee fiiiiiind.

  1. This is something I get to review, too. My daughter is a little older, but it is still pretty neat.
