Mott’s Medleys: Fruit Flavored Snacks #MyBlogSpark

My daughter loves her gummy snacks, so when I was asked to review Mott’s Medleys, there was no way I was going to turn it down. We received a few boxes of the berry flavor and a few boxes of the assorted fruit flavors.

What I immediately noticed about these snacks is their texture. The Mott’s is more firm, and in my opinion, more satisfying. I like that they are made from pear, apple and carrot juice concentrate. NOTE: the company does state that it is not intended to be a substitution for fruits or vegetables.

Here’s the list of ingredients:

Fruit and Vegetable Juice Blend from Concentrate (pear, apple, carrot), Corn Syrup, Sugar, Modified Corn Starch, Contains 2% or less of: Fruit Pectin, Citric Acid, Vitamin C, Dextrose, Sodium Citrate, Vegetable and Fruit Juice added for Color, Malic Acid, Potassium Citrate, Mineral Oil, Natural Flavor, Carnauba Wax, Beeswax.

I noticed that this product contains mineral oil, which is a by-product of petroleum. While it is considered safe to ingest (and not all mineral oils are alike), I am a little disturbed at the thought of consuming something containing even a trace amount of this ingredient. I’ll be sure to update this post once I have more information.

Collect box tops for your child’s school? The Mott’s Medleys have DOUBLE (yes, two) the box tops for you to clip. It’s a great way to earn brownie points with your child’s teacher. ;)

If you’d like to try them, download a printable coupon for $0.60 off the purchase of one box.
