Mirror Mirror

MIRROR MIRROR tells the story of Snow White (Collins), a princess in exile and the evil Queen (Roberts) who ruthlessly rules her captured kingdom. Seven courageous rebel dwarfs join forces with Snow White as she fights to reclaim her birthright and win her Prince in this magical comedy filled with jealousy, romance, and betrayal that will capture the hearts and imaginations of audiences the world over.

My thoughts:

I never pictured Julia Roberts being in this kind of movie. It was really hard to wrap my mind around her being an evil person, although she did a swell job. One of my favorite scenes was her beautifying regimen that was just torturous. All I will tell you is that it involves bird poop, maggots, bees, and a scorpion. *SHUDDER* I didn’t know whether to laugh or gag.

The prince annoyed the heck outta me, though he later redeemed himself. The first kiss was rather awkward, but sweet.

My fiance got a real kick out of it, which was a surprise since he’s not the movie-watching type. I had a really hard time getting into it because it was such a quirky twist on a story I love. Great costumes, however. I have to say this one’s a rental. =\

Don’t go away just yet. Here’s a beauty tip I was offered to share with you! To get Snow White’s shiny and smooth hair, condition your hair by heating a ½ cup of mayonnaise and a mushed banana in the microwave for about 10 seconds. Apply to dry hair and cover with a plastic bag for 20 minutes. Remove, rinse your hair with warm water, and then shampoo as normal.

Disclosure: I was provided a free copy of this movie in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own!
