A Happy Green Life: Natural Laundry Wash
| July 20, 2012 | Filed under Reviews |
Though I no longer cloth diaper, this wash makes me wish I still did! After much deliberation, I chose to review a bag of A Happy Green Life’s Island Breeze Natural Laundry Wash because hey, I would love nothing more than to escape to an island surrounded by the ocean breeze. The smell of this laundry wash is indescribable for me, so I’ll just stick to their description:
Fresh ozony top notes, followed by fresh greenery, lavender, vanilla, rose , jasmine, and melon, with bottom notes of fresh air. One of the freshest scents we have ever smelled!
I wholeheartedly agree. The smell permeates through your entire household if you leave the bag open, though I definitely don’t recommend that since the scent will be lost over time. If you have carpeted rooms, I would recommend using it in your carpet cleaner instead! I used it in my Bissell and it made the chore so much more enjoyable.
The neat part for me was being able to control the amount of scent that permeated my laundry. As per the instructions, for a stronger scent, let it soak. I admit I was a little skeptical, but I put it to the test. I encourage you to purchase a bag and try it as well! The difference in scent between washing and soaking for an hour before washing was H-U-G-E.
The ingredients are pretty simple, thus formulated to not leave any kind of residue:
Sodium Carbonate, Sodium Bicarbonate, Sodium Percarbonate, Fragrance or Essential Oil
The best part? For HE machines, you only need a half scoop per load. If you prefer to use a liquid detergent, you can make your own by dissolving each scoop of their detergent in one cup of water. They have about 40 different kinds of scents (some that are retailer specific), so there is bound to be something that you would enjoy.

Seriously. Try it! I’d stay this stuff is on par with Rockin’Green!
