What’s your favorite breakfast cereal?

When I was growing up, I had many favorites. Honeycombs, Honey Smacks, Applejack, Shredded Wheat… I could go on and on. I’m sure I was lured by the cool prizes that were buried in the bottoms of those boxes. As an adult, nothing can come between me and Honey Bunches of Oats. My fiance is partial to LIFE cereal, so those two are the only brands you’ll find unless I’m on a health food kick. On those occasions, I buy Raisin Bran or Grape Nuts — two cereals I wouldn’t dare touch as a kid.

Post and Purex kindly sent me a box of Honey Roasted goodness and a handful of coupons to buy more, which I wouldn’t dare turn down. I suppose I could share a few if you wanted to try and pry them out of my hands. :)

I know it seems kind of silly to write a review about a product I already love, but I’ll do anything for this stuff. Well, almost.

Honey Bunches of Oats just keeps getting better. In addition to Honey Roasted, Almonds, Strawberries, Raisin Medley, Vanilla Bunches, Pecan Bunches, Cinnamon Bunches, and JUST Bunches (you know, those yummy, crunchy little morsels?), they have again introduced some NEW goodies called Fruit Blends. You can purchase them in either Banana Blueberry or Peach Raspberry. Makes sense since the summer brings in all those fantastic fruits.

I can eat Honey Bunches of Oats at any time of the day. It makes good fuel for the mornings and a fabulous last night snack. What can I say? My sweet tooth sometimes gets the best of me. My fiance’s grandfather is the same way. He could probably eat it with a shovel. The man’s sweet tooth is the size of a woolly mammoth’s tusks. Can’t even stockpile the dang things when they’re on sale!

Does any of this sound familiar to you?

Disclosure: I was provided free product/coupons in exchange for my review. All opinions are my own.

  1. My all time favorite is Lucky Charms. Ate a lot of them growing up! But as an adult I know I have to eat healthier, so I choose either Shredded Wheat or Honey Bunches of Oats with Almonds.

  2. My favorite childhood cereal is Fruity Pebbles. I never eat it anymore, but my current favorite is Blueberry Oat Clusters and I think it’s a Cascadian Farm’s cereal. Yummy!!
